Pat Bermel has dedicated the last fifteen years of his career to the film industry, honing his skills as a multifaceted professional, with expertise in writing, producing, directing, and corporate business affairs.
In 1990, Bermel co-founded Freedom IV Films alongside Evan Tylor, where he played a pivotal role in both creative and financing development. This collaborative effort allowed him to nurture his artistic vision while also cultivating his business acumen.
Fast forward to 1994, Bermel penned the screenplay for Stag, a feature film starring Andrew McCarthy, Kevin Dillon, and Ben Gazzara, and worked alongside Tylor to secure financing for the project. The film premiered on HBO, solidifying Bermel's reputation as a talented writer and producer.
In 2001, Bermel took on an even more ambitious role, writing, directing, and producing The Invitation, a film that boasted an impressive cast, including Lance Henriksen. The film received widespread critical acclaim, earning a staggering six Leo Award nominations in 2001, including nods for best picture, best screenplay, director, actor, supporting actor, and cinematography.
Most recently, Bermel has been working on 11:11 The Gate, a film he co-produced and wrote, which is slated for release in 2004. With his extensive experience and impressive track record, Bermel continues to be a force to be reckoned with in the film industry.
