Patrick Lamont Jr was born on April 29, 1989, in the vibrant city of Bronx, New York. As the eldest of five brothers, he was raised by his mother, Wendy Smith, a dedicated teacher who instilled in him a strong sense of determination and resilience. From a young age, Patrick was drawn to the world of music, with a particular passion for R&B singing. His aspirations were put to the test when he received acceptance into the prestigious LaGuardia High School of Music, Arts & Performing Arts, only to discover that his family was relocating to Silver Springs, Maryland.
Undeterred, Patrick found solace in the performance arts scene in his new city, joining a boy group called UNEK (pronounced Unique) during his high school years. Although the group didn't last, Patrick's experience sparked his interest in acting, which he pursued further by joining the school's theatre department. He landed a lead role in a musical production, marking a significant turning point in his artistic journey.
After high school, Patrick attended Howard University, where he discovered his love for dance by joining the university's hip-hop dance team, VIZION. They performed at various shows and competitions throughout the year, allowing Patrick to hone his skills and gain confidence on stage.
Patrick's life took a different turn when he dropped out of college and focused on maintaining a regular life. He worked and managed various jobs, but ultimately felt unfulfilled. It wasn't until he discovered Ryan Murphy's work, particularly the hit TV show GLEE, that Patrick's passion for acting was rekindled.
Inspired by the show, Patrick auditioned for The Glee Project, but unfortunately, didn't make it past the initial rounds. However, the experience reignited his desire to pursue acting as a career. With a newfound sense of purpose, Patrick relocated to Atlanta, Georgia, where he has since appeared in several hit TV shows, including STAR on Fox, Black Lightning on CW, and Step Up: High Water on YouTube Red.
As a day player, Patrick recognizes that these roles are just the beginning of his journey. In Atlanta, he has established himself as a hardworking and dedicated individual, known for his charming personality and community involvement. Patrick has managed an acting studio, worked as an assistant to local casting directors, run workshops, and operated his own professional self-taping service.
In addition to his acting endeavors, Patrick enjoys motivational speaking and occasionally works with a non-profit organization that caters to community youth. As a host of their talent shows, he encourages participants to speak success and greatness into their lives, emphasizing the importance of affirmations, positivity, and gratitude.
Patrick's ultimate goal is to inspire people worldwide to love themselves and pursue their dreams. With his infectious energy and passion for the performing arts, he is well on his way to achieving this goal.
