Paul Rachman's multifaceted career spans decades, beginning with his early ventures into underground filmmaking and rock and punk music videos in the 1980s, where he collaborated with influential bands such as the Bad Brains.
As one of the industry's top music video directors at Propaganda Films in Los Angeles, Rachman worked with an impressive roster of artists, including Alice in Chains, The Replacements, Temple of the Dog, Sepultura, Roger Waters, Joan Jett and the Bad Brains, earning numerous nominations and awards for his music video work.
Rachman made his feature film directorial debut in 2000 with Four Dogs Playing Poker, starring Forrest Whittaker, Tim Curry, and Olivia Williams, marking a significant milestone in his career.
In addition to his feature film work, Rachman has directed several award-winning short films, including Drive Baby Drive, Memories, Home, Bang Bang, and Zoe XO, showcasing his versatility and talent behind the camera.
Furthermore, Rachman is also a co-founder and east coast director of the Slamdance Film Festival, which was established in 1995 and has since been recognized as one of the top 10 film festivals in the world today by Vanity Fair magazine.
