Paul Scherrer

Paul Scherrer's fourth grade teacher astutely advised his parents to enroll him in a drama class, recognizing his boundless energy and potential for creative expression. This auspicious recommendation led to his audition for "A Christmas Carol", where he secured the role of Peter Cratchit, showcasing his early talent. By the tender age of 13, Scherrer had already earned an Encore Award, the Central Indiana equivalent of a Tony Award, for his outstanding performance as a child actor in "Camelot". His impressive resume continued to grow, with appearances in regional and national television commercials. Prior to completing his freshman year at Chicago's Loyola University, Scherrer signed up for a summer production of "The Grapes of Wrath", only to receive the thrilling news that he had been cast as the 16-year-old janitor, Eric, on the popular Van Dyke Show. This breakthrough role ultimately led to Scherrer's relocation to Los Angeles. Paul Scherrer's close relationship with his family is a testament to his strong sense of roots and upbringing. His father, Paul Sr., a successful real estate salesman, and his mother, Gay, a travel agency owner, have been a constant source of support, as have his siblings, older sister Stephanie and younger brother Christopher.
