Biography

Paul Sirmons is a seasoned professional with a wealth of experience in the film and television industry, boasting a career spanning over four decades. He has worn many hats, including producer, director, line producer, unit production manager, and first assistant director, working on a diverse range of projects, from movies to television shows.

Notably, Sirmons served as Florida's State Film Commissioner from 2005 to 2008, during which time he played a crucial role in re-writing the state's film incentive program, thereby increasing its funding and attracting hundreds of millions of dollars to the state, creating thousands of new jobs in the process. He also developed a hurricane plan for productions, a 'green' production plan, and a tourist movie map in partnership with Visit Florida.

Currently, Sirmons focuses on creating family and faith-based content, with a mission to produce movies that can make a positive impact on people's lives. He is the President of the non-profit International Christian Visual Media Association (ICVM),which hosts the annual 4-day ICVM Storytellers Conference and the ICVM Crown Awards presented at the National Religious Broadcasters (NRB) Media Convention.

Sirmons has recently produced two dramatic movies for the Chickasaw Nation in Oklahoma, 'The Chickasaw Rancher' and 'Te Ata', which premiered on Netflix. He has also line-produced several faith-based movies, including 'Home Run' (2013) and 'Letters to God' (2010),and 'To Write Love On Her Arms' (formerly 'Day One' (2012)).

In addition to his work as a producer and director, Sirmons has extensive experience as a first assistant director, working on numerous television series, including the critically-acclaimed 'Quantum Leap' (1989),'Falcon Crest' (1981),'SeaQuest 2032' (1993),and 'Our House' (1986). His early career as a second assistant director began with the classic family series, 'The Waltons'.

Sirmons serves on the film advisory boards of Valencia College and Full Sail University, as well as the Film Committee of NRB.
