Phaedros Stassinos, professionally known as Paul Stassino, was a renowned Greek-Cypriot actor whose impressive career spanned across international borders.
Born in Cyprus, he left his homeland at the tender age of 17 to pursue his passion for acting at the prestigious Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London, England.
He spent the majority of his acting career in Britain, where he made a name for himself by appearing in notable British TV dramas such as "Danger Man" (1960) and "The Saint" (1962).
However, his most iconic performance was undoubtedly in the James Bond film "Thunderball" (1965),where he played dual roles as Major François Derval and Angelo Palazzi.
Stassino's extensive repertoire also includes notable roles in "Le Pirate" in "That Riviera Touch" (1966) and the first officer of the Colombian ship Paloma in "Tiger Bay" (1959).
After leaving the UK in the 1970s to manage a casino in Athens, Greece, Stassino returned to his homeland of Cyprus in the 1980s.
Throughout his life, Stassino was blessed with three children from two marriages. His British first wife bore him two children, who currently reside in the UK, while his Greek second wife gave birth to one child, who lives in Greece.
