Paul Yen is a multifaceted American actor who has crafted a diverse array of roles across various platforms. He is particularly proud of the opportunity to play the lead role of Quang in Qui Nguyen's Vietgone at East West Players, a performance that earned him a nomination for the 2018 Best Lead Actor Award by the Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle.
In 2017, Paul received the Hollywood Fringe Scholarship, allowing him to realize his dream of premiering his one-man show, Secret Identity Crisis, which reimagines the origin stories of three iconic superheroes as Asian American men using events from Asian American history. This innovative production received the Producers' Encore Award and Pick of the Fringe.
Paul's extensive stage credits include a former boxer haunted by his past in FUBAR and a naive adolescent with a crush on his mentor in Habitat, presented by the Latino Theater Company. His television appearances include roles on CBS's young Sheldon, CBS's Magnum P.I., ABC's How To Get Away With Murder, Amazon's Bosch, CBS's NCIS: Los Angeles, TNT's The Last Ship and Animal Kingdom.
In addition to his work in television and stage, Paul has appeared in independent films such as One Hour Fantasy Girl, Nightmare Code, and Midnights with Adam, which premiered at the Los Angeles Asian Film Festival. His commercial work includes a campaign for Fitbit and a national spot for Verizon featuring Edward Norton.
A native of Southern California, Paul is on a lifelong journey of self-discovery, driven by his curiosity about human interaction. This curiosity led him to earn a B.A. in Communication Studies and a Minor in Theatre from Long Beach State.
