Philip Cook is a multi-talented filmmaker with a vast array of credits to his name. As a writer, director, editor, and/or photographer, he has worked on hundreds of commercials, films, program-opens, and on-air IDs for a diverse range of clients, including The Washington Opera and MTV.
With a degree in film production from the University of Maryland, Cook has honed his craft and garnered numerous awards and accolades for his productions. These include a Clio, Tellies, Pollies, National Cine Eagles, Muse Award, and independent film festival awards.
In addition to his commercial work, Cook has written fifteen screenplays, with two being sold and six produced. At the age of 24, he wrote and directed the feature film Star Quest, which debuted on the SyFy Channel.
As a published author, Cook has written for American Cinematographer Magazine, and his work has been featured in the National Museum of the American Indian and the National Postal Museum.
Cook's directorial credits include the feature film Invader, which premiered on HBO, Cinemax, and Showtime, as well as the direct-to-video feature Despiser, now in its fourth DVD release.
Most recently, Cook has produced Malice, an original series that has been hot-listed by the Writers Guild of America as "the Web's Most Cutting Edge New Media Content." The series can be viewed on Amazon, and all three Malice movies are now being released as The Malice Trilogy.
Throughout his career, Cook has been recognized for his commitment to original, high-concept storytelling that often blends horror, fantasy, and science fiction elements. His films have developed a cult following among fans of indie genre cinema.
