Biography

Piero Schivazappa was born in Colorno and began his journey in the film industry in 1959, serving as an assistant director for renowned directors such as Valerio Zurlini, Mario Monicelli, and Carlo Lizzani. He continued to hone his skills by collaborating with RAI on news reports and documentaries starting from 1963.

Schivazappa made his feature film debut in 1969 with the provocative film The Laughing Woman, which faced numerous challenges due to censorship issues at the time. His success in 1973 with the miniseries Vino e pane led him to focus on television films and TV-series in the following years.

In 1986, Schivazappa directed the renowned actress Serena Grandi in the erotic drama La signora della notte, produced by Giovanni Bertolucci.
