Mullamangalath Parameshwaran Bhattathiripad, a renowned social reformer, cultural leader, and actor, was born on September 23, 1908, and passed away on August 10, 1998. He was commonly referred to as M. P. Bhatathirippad or Premji.
Throughout his life, Premji was deeply committed to social and cultural causes. He joined the prestigious Yogakshema Sabha, where he collaborated with influential figures such as V. T. Bhattathiripad, E. M. S. Namboodiripad, and his own brother, M. R. Bhattathiripad.
Together, they worked tirelessly to combat the prevalent casteism and conservatism within the Nambudiri community. This courageous endeavor aimed to bring about a more inclusive and equitable society.
In addition to his social activism, Premji also made a lasting impact in the world of entertainment. As a skilled stage and film actor, he earned the prestigious National Film Award for Best Actor for his outstanding performance in the film Piravi.
