Nasution's journey began in junior high school, where she joined the national training camp for the traditional Indonesian martial art of pencak silat. She later pursued higher education in Germany, majoring in information technology at a prestigious university. During her university years, Nasution was unexpectedly offered a chance to become a runway model in 2003. Despite initially accepting the opportunity as a means to earn extra money, she soon discovered that she lacked the confidence to succeed in the industry. In a candid 2011 interview with The Jakarta Post, Nasution confessed that her thighs were too big, making her body "defective" for modeling.
After deciding to retire from the modeling world, Nasution transitioned into acting, landing roles in several TV movies. Her breakthrough performance came when she was cast as the lead female character, Srintil, in Ifa Isfansyah's 2011 film Sang Penari (The Dancer) following two unsuccessful auditions. Undeterred by her initial rejection, Nasution immersed herself in the project by reading the original novel by Ahmad Tohari and subsequently dedicating herself to mastering the role. To prepare for the part, Nasution spent time in Banyumas, Central Java, practicing traditional dances and learning the local dialect, as well as restricting her diet to accurately portray a malnourished rural girl.
As of January 2012, Nasution is currently starring in the TV series Laskar Pelangi - The Series (Rainbow Warriors - The Series),based on the novel by Andrea Hirata. Additionally, she is actively working on an original screenplay exploring the concept of parallel lives in the 1940s and 2010s.
