Prometheus Aleifer, born Spyros Promitheas Aliferopoulos in 1982 in Athens, Greece, embarked on a remarkable journey in the world of theater and film. His academic pursuits led him to study theater at the University of Athens and the Art Theater Drama School, where he honed his craft and prepared himself for a successful career.
Upon completing his studies, Aleifer joined the National Theater in Athens, where he worked on a diverse range of productions, including classical and contemporary plays, under the direction of renowned European directors. This experience not only refined his acting skills but also provided him with valuable exposure to the industry.
Aleifer's breakthrough role came in 2011 with the feature film "Burning Heads" (original title "Milk"),in which he portrayed a schizophrenic young Russian immigrant. His performance received widespread critical acclaim, earning him a nomination for the male lead by the Greek Film Academy and a prestigious win at the Alexandria Mediterranean Film Festival in 2012.
The same year, Aleifer starred in a successful production of Aristophanes' "The Clouds" at the Epidaurus festival, solidifying his reputation as a talented and versatile actor. In 2013, he made his television debut in Showtime's series "The Borgias," directed by the acclaimed Neil Jordan. Since then, Aleifer has continued to appear in numerous European films and has maintained his association with the National Theatre, where he remains a respected and accomplished artist.
