Rafael's formative years were characterized by a plethora of travel experiences, as his family relocated to various destinations, including New York, Washington D.C., Caracas, Bethesda, and Los Angeles. This extensive travel had a profound impact on his developing personality, fostering a sense of adventure and a thirst for knowledge that would ultimately shape his career aspirations.
As he entered adulthood, Rafael's academic pursuits took him to the University of Maryland, where he undertook a rigorous course of study, earning a double major in anthropology, political science, social geography, and romance language literature.
