Raisa D'Oyley was born in South Florida to Jamaican immigrants, making her one of seven siblings, with her being the youngest girl. Her introduction to the world of performing arts occurred when she attended the Broward Center for Performing Arts Summer Theater Camp, which sparked a lifelong passion within her. Although she ultimately pursued a career as a lawyer, her love for the arts never faded. During her high school years, Raisa excelled in Speech & Debate, ranking nationally in dramatic interpretation.
Throughout her undergraduate and graduate studies at the University of Florida, she took performance courses, further nurturing her artistic side. When practicing law in New York City, Raisa made it a point to attend as many Broadway shows as possible.
In 2021, after relocating to Atlanta, Georgia, Raisa decided to pursue acting as a full-time career. Since then, she has been grateful for the numerous opportunities that have arisen. Raisa progressed from beginner to advanced classes at Anthony Meindl's Actor Workshop and has booked a diverse range of projects, including leading roles in independent films, plays, commercials, a web series, and documentary.
Notably, Raisa played a leading character in the holiday drama Forgetting Christmas, which featured the highly acclaimed Victoria Rowell and Emmy-nominated Melan Perez. Forgetting Christmas received a nomination for Best Feature Film in the Martha's Vineyard African American Film Festival in 2023 and won Best Feature Film at the Prince George's Film Festival.
