Raymond is a veteran writer, director, and producer with over 30 years of experience in the industry. He began his career as an actor, working alongside notable figures such as Fred Roos, Dustin Hoffman, and Julia Pistor, among others. For a decade, he was part of the writing and directing team that founded PM Entertainment, a production company run by producer Joseph Merhi.
Raymond's early training in acting took place in New York, where he studied with renowned instructors like Lee Strasberg, Uta Hagen, and Brett Warren at The Actor's Mobile Theater. He was also a member of the protégés at the ATA Theater, which counted Robert DeNiro, Paul Sorvino, and Barbara Bel Geddes among its board members.
In Los Angeles, Raymond was part of the original "Actors Gym for Playwrights," a workshop that brought together emerging writers and actors, including Bobby Moresco and Paul Haggis, who would later go on to win Oscars for their screenplays.
Raymond's film credits include "Da Vinci's War," "To the Limit," "Skyscraper," "American Born," "Detour," "East L.A. Warriors," and several others. He is also known for his work on the TNT drama series "L.A. HEAT."
Throughout his career, Raymond has received numerous awards and nominations for his work, including the "Awards of Merit" for his documentary "Through the Heart of Tango" at the 2013 Indie Fest, the Best Animation Short for his screenplay "Hannah Lost Her Smile" at the Outside the Box 2013 Film Festival, and the 1994 Best Comedy Award at the Milan Comedy Festival for his film "Dumb Luck in Vegas."
Raymond has also received nominations for his direction and playwriting at the LA Drama Critic's Awards. He is the founder of Inclusion Films, a practical film workshop in Burbank that provides training and mentorship to men and women with developmental disabilities. The school has attracted top industry professionals, including Ron Bass, Ed Asner, and Joe Mantegna, who have supported the institution and its mission.
Raymond's own journey from being an illiterate kid from the Bronx to becoming an award-winning writer and director has inspired him to create impactful films and support others with similar experiences.
