Richard Jamze, a renowned and accomplished queer writer/director hailing from Australia, has made a significant impact on the global film scene. His films have been fortunate enough to be selected for and screened at some of the most prestigious festivals and competitions, including the esteemed BAFTA and BIFA Qualifying Aesthetica Film Festival, as well as the Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts Awards, to name a few.
Throughout his career, Richard's work has garnered numerous accolades and recognitions, including the Australian Government Creative Generations Excellence in Arts Award, which was presented for his remarkable film, 'Our Dying Earth'. This project was showcased and exhibited nationally, with a special stop at the Gallery of Modern Art in Brisbane. Richard's academic achievements are equally impressive, as he graduated with an Award for Academic Excellence from Griffith Film School, where he had the privilege of studying under the guidance of esteemed master filmmakers such as Lord David Puttnam (The Killing Fields, Chariots of Fire),Bruce Beresford (Women In Black, Mao's Last Dancer),and Angie Fielder (Wish You Were Here, Lion).
