Richard Parry embarked on his illustrious career as a war cameraman and producer, working for the esteemed Frontline News Television agency, where he gained extensive experience covering some of the most tumultuous conflicts worldwide, including those in Yugoslavia, Chechnya, Nagorno-Karabakh, Iraq, and Afghanistan, among many others.
In the year 2001, Parry made his mark as a writer and director with the release of South West Nine, a critically acclaimed film that earned him a nomination for the prestigious Carl Foreman Award at the BAFTAs.
Throughout his illustrious career, which spanned over two and a half decades, Parry continued to produce a plethora of documentaries and feature films, in addition to his ongoing work as a war correspondent.
Notably, Parry is the director and writer of three feature films, including the iconic 2001 film South West Nine, which offers a poignant portrayal of life in Brixton, as well as the groundbreaking film BASE, which garnered numerous accolades, including a BAFTA nomination and a BIFFA award, among others.
