Richard Shaw's professional journey has been marked by an unconventional progression from his early work in television sound and music scoring to producing and directing. As he found himself immersed in various television and film environments, Shaw felt creatively restricted and needed to expand his horizons by taking on producing and directing roles.
One of his most notable projects was serving as one of the three producers on the movie "Beat the Drum", shot in South Africa in 2003, which won an impressive 30 international awards and tackled the critical issue of the AIDS pandemic. Shaw's subsequent work included directing "The Wordz Project", a documentary that featured some of the most renowned names in Rap, as they rapped the words of Christ.
As his career evolved, Shaw found himself increasingly involved in all aspects of the production process, from shooting and editing to writing, directing, and producing, with a keen focus on seeing a project through from start to finish and mastering the latest technology. His current company, Pinlight LLC, is actively involved in various stages of documentary and motion picture production, including development, production, and post-production.
Notably, Pinlight LLC is currently involved in the ongoing production of the "Watchers" series, which began with a modest $5,000 loan in 2010 and has since grown into a best-selling documentary series exploring the paranormal and earth changes. The series is hosted and co-produced by L.A. Marzulli, with all episodes directed by Richard Shaw.
