Richie Sambora is a multi-talented and accomplished musician, renowned for his exceptional skills as a songwriter, singer, guitarist, and producer. As a founding member of the iconic rock band Bon Jovi, he has had the privilege of touring the world and accumulating an impressive collection of 68 gold and platinum albums.
In 1998, Sambora released his second solo album, "Undiscovered Soul", which was produced by the renowned Don Was and featured contributions from notable musicians such as Chuck Leavell of The Rolling Stones, Rami Jaffee of The Wallflowers, and Steven Tyler of Aerosmith.
Born in Perth Amboy, New Jersey, and raised in Woodbridge, Sambora's musical journey began when he received his first guitar at the age of 12 in 1971. He started playing in bands just three years later, and his diverse musical tastes were influenced by a wide range of artists, including The Beatles, Eric Clapton, Johnny Winter, Led Zeppelin, and "a lot of blues stuff".
Sambora's first solo album, "Stranger In This Town", allowed him to explore all aspects of his musical persona, and the single "Mr. Bluesman" was inspired by his idol, Eric Clapton. When Clapton agreed to play lead guitar on the track, Sambora's lifelong dream was finally fulfilled.
As a self-taught musician, Sambora is proficient in playing multiple instruments, including all guitars, piano, bass, drums, trumpet, saxophone, and accordion. He divides his time between Los Angeles and New Jersey with his daughter Ava Elizabeth, who was born on October 4, 1997.
