Rick Edwards, a former athlete and renowned top male model, made his cinematic debut in the Italian medieval saga "_Paladini - storia d'armi e d'amori, I_" (1983),where he played the pivotal role of Orlando, a Christian knight, who embarked on a perilous journey across the countryside during the Crusades to assassinate a Moor prince, portrayed by Ron Moss.
Born in Northfield, Massachusetts, Rick Edwards pursued his academic endeavors at the University of Amherst, where he distinguished himself as a member of the school's esteemed oar team. His exceptional athletic prowess enabled him to compete at the professional level, rowing for the New York Athletic Club for four years, and even participating in the 1978 world championships.
Rick's impressive athletic career caught the attention of a prominent agent, who subsequently introduced him to the world of modeling. He quickly became a regular fixture on the cover of Gentleman Quarterly, an esteemed publication akin to Vogue, and appeared in various advertising campaigns. His association with the Ford Motor Company further solidified his status as a top model.
Despite his success, Rick's passion for boxing led him to take up the sport, but he eventually realized that it was not a suitable profession for a model and discontinued his boxing career after two years, filled with regret.
As he grew tired of the male modeling circuit, Rick sought to transition into acting, appearing in supporting roles in small films, including "Skatetown U.S.A." (1979) and the TV serial "High Performance" (1983). Later that year, he landed his first significant acting role in "_Paladini - storia d'armi e d'amori_", where he gained valuable experience.
Rick continued to appear in TV shows, including "Santa Barbara" (1984),where he played the role of Jake Morton, solidifying his status as a versatile and talented actor.
