Rob, a two-time Emmy Award-winning Director, embarked on his filmmaking journey at the tender age of 11. As an actor, he secured his Equity Card at 17 and has since remained dedicated to directing in theatre, film, and television.
Rob's academic background includes studies in Communications at Ithaca College and Theatre Arts at Buffalo State. His professional career began as a Production Supervisor for CBS Sports and Entertainment divisions in New York City. This experience led to him producing the CBS daytime drama "As the World Turns" by day and working in the theatre at night.
The allure of Hollywood soon beckoned, and Rob was entrusted with directing the NBC daytime drama "Santa Barbara" for five years, followed by "General Hospital". His first foray into sitcom direction was "Another World", which marked the beginning of a long and illustrious career directing over 400 sitcom episodes for every major network and studio.
Notably, six pilots directed by Rob went on to series, and he also directed the BBC series "Clone" in London. Furthermore, he was at the forefront of webisode series production, working with Crackle. His independent film, "And They're Off", received glowing reviews from the LA Times, and his latest short film, "Don't Be a Drip", won the Best Short Award at FilmFest 2016.
Rob has also shared his expertise by teaching Directing and Production in Beijing and is currently back at USC, imparting his knowledge to the next generation of filmmakers.
