Robert was born on July 25th, 1928, to Lillian Collins and Frank Cawley in Carbondale, Pennsylvania. He had the unique experience of attending Edison High School at the same time as Ralph Branca, a renowned Brooklyn Dodger Pitcher. Simultaneously, Robert represented the Park Circle Skating Club of Brooklyn, New York, and achieved an impressive 10 national medals for artistic skating.
As a talented skater, Robert joined the cast of Skating Vanities, a roller skating show, and embarked on a tour of Europe. He later transitioned to ice skating and toured with the legendary Sonja Henie, Holiday on Ice, and Hollywood Ice review. Following his stint in the skating world, Robert made a career shift and became a Police Officer, dedicating the next 30 years to law enforcement, including stints in the Juvenile Bureau, Coroner's Investigator, and Private Investigator.
Eventually, Robert relocated to Texas and spent eight years serving in the Desoto Police Department. In his personal life, Robert married Sandra Eggert in 1964 and remains married to her to this day. The couple has three children, Stacey, Frank, and Kelly, who are all now married and residing in Texas.
In addition to his many accomplishments, Robert is a published poet and continues to produce The Exposure Showcase in Dallas, providing opportunities for aspiring performers to get their start.
