Roberta's earliest memories are of Lima, Peru, where she was born to a father of Italian-Peruvian heritage and a mother whose ancestry is a rich tapestry of Indigenous, Spanish, and Afro-Peruvian roots. This unique cultural makeup has undoubtedly played a significant role in shaping Roberta's identity, as evidenced by her unwavering response to the question "What are you?" - a resounding "I'm Peruvian."
As the youngest of four sisters, Roberta's childhood was filled with warmth and camaraderie. However, her family's fortunes took a turn for the worse when she was just five years old, prompting them to make the difficult decision to leave the United States and return to Peru. At the age of sixteen, they made the difficult decision to return to the United States, with Roberta finishing her high school education in her native Lima before making the journey back to the States.
Roberta's determination to pursue her dreams led her to Carnegie Mellon University, where she earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Acting. This marked a significant milestone in her journey, as she began to lay the groundwork for a successful career in the entertainment industry.
