Roko Belic, a celebrated filmmaker, entered this world in the year 1971, specifically in Seattle, Washington, where his parents, hailing from Czechoslovakian and Yugoslavian backgrounds, welcomed him into their family. As he grew up in the charming Chicago suburb of Evanston, Illinois, Belic's early years were characterized by an intense fascination with non-fiction television programs, which his mother, employing a wrench to repair a broken dial, unintentionally introduced him to on their local PBS channel.
The formative years of Tony Belic's life were marked by a profound influence, courtesy of his mother's makeshift TV repair endeavors, which inadvertently introduced him to the captivating world beyond his hometown's boundaries. As a young boy, Belic's burgeoning interest in the art of filmmaking first began to take shape in the third grade, when he embarked on an inaugural collaborative project with his brother, Adrian. Together, they set out to create a short film, utilizing a super-8 movie camera generously lent to them by their parents.
