Biography

Rose Leiman Goldemberg is a renowned playwright, screenwriter, and author, celebrated globally for her work. Her internationally acclaimed play, Letters Home, about the life of Sylvia Plath, has been translated into numerous languages and received widespread acclaim.

Goldemberg's extensive body of work includes plays and musicals such as Gandhiji, Apples in Eden, The Rabinowitz Gambit, Rites of Passage, Sophie, and The Merry War, garnering numerous awards and nominations. Her notable plays include Gandhiji, which earned a Robby Award, was selected for the O'Neill Conference, and featured in Burns Mantle's Best Plays of 1982-1983.

In television, Goldemberg has made a significant impact with her work on shows such as The Burning Bed, which earned her the Writers Guild of America Award for Best Dramatic Adaptation, an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Writing, an American Women in Radio and TV Award, a Humanitas Award nomination, and a permanent collection spot at The American Film Institute. Her other notable TV credits include Dark Holiday, Stone Pillow, starring Lucille Ball, Florence Nightingale, Born Beautiful, Land of Hope, Death at Dinner, The Pencil Box War, The Jonas Salk Story, and Mother and Daughter, The Loving War.
