Ruwaydah Amin, also known as Ru, is a multifaceted individual from Baltimore, Maryland. She is a graduate of Baltimore City Community College and Coppin State University, and has been an educator in the city for over 18 years. Ru's passion for theater arts began at a young age, as she started acting in school plays at just six years old. She took a break from acting after high school, but later returned to pursue her passion.
In 2021, Ru decided to take her passion for the entertainment industry seriously and started her own company, "Ru's Way 1988." She has since honed her craft by attending acting classes in the DMV area, including "Actors Academy" and "Acting with Ramona." Ru has appeared in numerous productions, including HBO's "We Own The City," Iron Crowns "Black Therapy," and Arie Can Productions' "Secrets 2." She has also had roles in Alvin Gray's series "Risky Business" and "Check Please," as well as Rotten Goose Productions' "A Naughty Christmess Story."
In addition to her acting career, Ru is also a fashion model and a weight loss coach. She is currently working on publishing her first weight loss book, which documents her remarkable all-natural weight loss journey. Ru is also a talented musician, having started writing music at the age of eight. She has accumulated over 100 songs and enjoys listening to music from sunup to sundown, with a love for all genres.
On any given day, Ru can be found starring in movies, ripping the runway, coaching weight loss, writing music or poetry, working on one of her many books, or serving as a motivational coach. Ru is a true "jack of all trades" and is driven by a desire to make the world a better place through her talents and her light.
