Saara Chaudry is a multifaceted Canadian artist, boasting a diverse range of talents that include acting, character design, dancing, and singing. Her career began with small roles in various television productions, such as Degrassi: The Next Generation (2001),Combat Hospital (2011),Desperately Seeking Santa (2011),and Isabelle Dances Into the Spotlight (2014).
As a precocious three-year-old, Saara displayed a keen interest in creating character concepts, which later became the foundation for Karen Chau's idea for the show Ni Hao, Kai-Lan (2007). This early passion for character development would ultimately shape her future endeavors.
Saara made her theatrical debut as Little Cosette in the 25th anniversary production of Les Miserables at the Princess of Wales theatre, performing on opening night and at a special gala benefit alongside Colm Wilkinson. Her outstanding performance earned her a 2014 Broadway World Award for best female performer in a featured role, as well as nominations for a Young Artists Award and a Dora Award.
Following her successful theatre run, Saara returned to television, taking on the role of Howie in Nickelodeon's Max & Shred (2014) and guest starring on PBS Kids' Odd Squad (2014). She then went on to film season 4 of Sinking Ship's Emmy and Canadian Screen-nominated series Dino Dana (2017),playing the role of Saara, Dana's older sister.
Saara is currently filming the Dino Dana Movie, as well as Universal Kids/Hulu's new tween series Holly Hobbie (2018),where she portrays Amy, Holly's best friend. Her extensive work in animation has earned her a nomination for a 2017 Canadian Screen Award for her role as Clara in The Curse of Clara: A Holiday Tale (2015),and she is thrilled to be the voice of Parvana in the Oscar, Golden Globe, and Canadian Screen Award-nominated feature film The Breadwinner (2017).
Saara is also set to voice Carmen in Let's Go Luna! (2018) and is currently working on the animated series Charlie's Colorforms City (2019). When not filming, Saara enjoys attending school, singing with her girl band Girl-Powr, and advocating for gender equality and girls' education.
