Born in the picturesque town of Grosse Pointe, Michigan, to a loving family of five children, as the youngest of his siblings, to his parents Santina (Cossa) and Salvatore Viviano.
He spent his formative years in Schaumburg, Illinois, where he graduated from Schaumburg High School before furthering his education at Eastern Illinois University.
Viviano began his professional journey in the vibrant city of Chicago, where he honed his skills in both commercials and theatre, before making the move to the city that never sleeps, New York City, for his Broadway debut in the esteemed production of THE THREE MUSKETEERS in 1984.
Throughout his illustrious career, he has had the privilege of performing in numerous Broadway productions, including ROMANCE / ROMANCE, CITY OF ANGELS, FALSETTOS, THE LIFE, and THE FULL MONTY, as well as various Off-Broadway shows such as BEAU JEST, CATHER COUNTY, WEIRD ROMANCE, CATCH ME IF I FALL, BROADWAY JUKEBOX, HAMLET, THE OPERA, and many more.
His outstanding performance as the title character in SUNDAY IN THE PARK WITH GEORGE earned him a nomination for a Helen Hayes Award in 1998.
In addition to his stage work, Viviano has also ventured into film, starring in two genre films, Black Roses (1988) and The Jitters (1989),directed by the talented John Fasano.
With a passion for music, he has recorded over two dozen CD's featuring a range of theatrical and old standard songs.
Viviano is married to the talented actress Liz Larsen.
