Sally Boyden began her television career at the age of seven as a performer on "Young Talent Time" in 1973, becoming the youngest performer in the show's history. She left the show in 1976 at the age of ten to focus on her solo career as an actress.
After leaving "Young Talent Time", Boyden released her debut album "The Littlest Australian" in 1976, which became a gold record by mid-year, making her the youngest Australian to receive a gold record.
She then began filming for the TV film "Barnaby and Me" in 1976, and later acted in other American-produced films and TV movies, including "Lassie: A New Beginning" and "The Little Dragons".
Boyden also undertook her first theatre acting role as Wendy in a pantomime, Peter Pan, in 1980, and starred in an Australian film, "Dead Man's Float" and TV series, "The Sullivans" and "Come Midnight Monday".
As an adult, Sally Boyden relocated to London and worked as a songwriter for EMI, providing songs for various artists. She also sang backing vocals for Duran Duran and was part of a group, the Candy Bombers, who performed at the Queens Jubilee in 2002.
Boyden toured Australia with the "Follow Your Dreams" program as a motivational speaker, sharing her experiences in show business and life with school children. She later returned to London and held residencies at various music venues and performed with her band, The Candy Bombers.
The band has performed at various festivals and events, including the Edinburgh Festival, Ibiza Millennium celebrations, and in Wales, New York, and New Zealand. Boyden has also headlined in Hyde Park as part of the Queen's Jubilee festivities and joined Duran Duran on stage at various concerts.
She has recorded vocals for Duran Duran's albums and has also recorded vocals for The Dandy Warhols' album "Welcome to the Monkey House" and the Stephen Duffy, Nick Rhodes project, The Devils.
Boyden created a children's entertainment, musical and educational TV show, "Punktuition", which was broadcast on PBS. She has also released two collections of her favorite self-penned tunes, "Keepsake - Chapter 1" and "Keepsake - Chapter 2", and is now signed to music publisher, Peer Music, in London.
"Punktuition" is currently in pre-production, and Boyden has performed on the recent Young Talent Time reunion shows.
