Sam's academic journey began in 2001 when he enrolled in Seattle Central College, where he would eventually graduate in 2003 with an Associate of Applied Science degree in Film and Video Communications. This prestigious educational institution provided him with a solid foundation in the art of storytelling and the technical skills necessary to bring his creative vision to life.
After completing his studies, Sam ventured into the world of hospitality, taking on a position as a bartender at Lake Wilderness Golf Course. It was during this time that he would meet a regular customer, Thom Doty, who would become instrumental in the development of his first feature film script.
In 2004, Sam penned the script "Bullets, Blood & a Fistful of Ca$h" for Thom Doty, a project that would ultimately become his directorial debut. With a budget of $50,000, the film underwent two distinct phases of production. The initial $25,000 was allocated for the production of the film itself, while the remaining $25,000 was allocated for post-production, where the raw footage was edited and refined into a polished final product.
The film, later renamed "Ca$h" by Shoreline Entertainment, would go on to make its debut at the prestigious Marche du Cannes, a leading international film market. This significant milestone marked a major achievement for Sam, as it demonstrated his ability to conceive, produce, and distribute a feature film, paving the way for a successful career in the entertainment industry.
Sam's cinematic trajectory took a significant turn with the success of "Ca$h", a development that facilitated his collaboration with Slovenian director Mitja Okorn on multiple projects.
Sam's innovative collaborator, Jules Jones, a talented and visionary individual, joined forces with him to establish the production company Attackships On Fire, a pioneering entity that has successfully produced a plethora of commercials for esteemed brands such as Dell Technologies.
Sam and Jones, following the triumphant reception of "Planet Single", embarked on a collaborative endeavour with Gigant Films, signing an agreement to co-pen the screenplays for the forthcoming sequels. These films were slated to be produced back-to-back in 2018, with the anticipation building in the months preceding their release.
In the summer of 2017, Sam took a trip to Poland, which ultimately led to a life-changing opportunity. During his stay, he was offered the esteemed position of director on the highly anticipated "Planet Single 2". Later, Sam agreed to co-direct "Planet Single 3" alongside producer Michal Chacinski, further solidifying his involvement in the franchise.
The culmination of their hard work and dedication was the simultaneous release of both films, with "Planet Single 2" and "Planet Single 3" hitting the big screen within a mere three-month span.
Sam's cinematic endeavors have yielded impressive results, with "Planet Single 2" emerging as the third highest-grossing film in Poland for the year 2018, surpassing the box office performance of the highly anticipated "Avengers: Infinity War". Furthermore, "Planet Single 3" secured a notable sixth position among Poland's highest-grossing films for 2019, trailing behind the behemoth that is "Avengers: End Game".
Sam's creative prowess extended to the realm of filmmaking, as he co-wrote and directed the 2019 production "Mayday". This cinematic masterpiece premiered theatrically on January 10th, 2020, ultimately concluding its run as the third highest-grossing film in Poland for the year 2020.
