Sandra Nashaat Bassaal, a talented filmmaker, completed her studies at the Higher Institute of Cinema in 1992, followed by her graduation from the faculty of Arts French section in 1993.
Her cinematic journey began with the short film "Akher sheta," and she soon ventured into documentary filmmaking with "Al-moviola," a film about the renowned editor Kamaal Abul-Ela.
Bassaal's feature film debut was "Mabrouk & Bolbol" in 1996, starring Yahia al-Fakharaany and Dalaal Abdul Azeez. This was followed by the successful "Leih khalletny ahebbak" in 1999, featuring a star-studded cast including Karim Abdel Azeez, Mona Zaky, Hala Sheeha, and Ahmed Helmy.
In addition to her feature films, Bassaal also directed "Harameyya fee KG2," a film that tells the story of a safe burglar who falls in love with the kindergarten teacher of his friend's daughter, who helps him to quit stealing. The film was shot by Ihaab Muhammad Aly and written by Belaal Fadl.
Apart from her feature films, Bassaal has also directed several music video clips, including Muhammad Fouad's "Fakrak ya nasseeny," Khaled Aggaag's "Asaab hobb," and Ghada Ragab's "Lemaatha."
