Sanjoy Nag's journey in the film industry began with documentaries, which later paved the way for his transition to feature films. His debut feature film, "MEMORIES IN MARCH", starring Rituparno Ghosh, Raima Sen, and Deepti Naval, earned him the Indian National Award in 2010 and had its world premiere at the New Currents Section of the Busan International Film Festival in the same year.
The film also received screenings at various international film festivals, including the Indian Panorama at the International Film Festival of India in Goa in 2011, the Mumbai Academy of the Moving Image in Mumbai, the Kerala International Film Festival in Durban, South Africa, and numerous other festivals across the globe.
Sanjoy Nag has recently completed a Hindi feature film titled "GULAB", based on a novel by Annie Zaidi, starring Tanya Maniktala, Paoli Dam, Vardhan Puri, Rahul Bagga, and Ujjwal Chopra, produced by Endemol Shine and TYYP, and premiered at the Chicago South Asian Film Festival.
His previous Hindi feature film, "YOURS TRULY", starring Soni Razdan, Pankaj Tripathi, Aahana Kumra, and Mahesh Bhatt, had its world premiere at the Busan International Film Festival in 2018 and is currently streaming on ZEE5. The film won the Best Digital Film Award at the Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival in 2020.
Sanjoy Nag's sophomore feature, "PARAPAAR", a Bangla film based on a novel by Moti Nandy, was released in 2014, followed by "GOOD MORNING SUNSHINE", starring Revathy, Shweta Tripathi, Rituparna Sengupta, Tejaswini Kolhapure, and Shabana Azmi, with music by Oscar-winning composer M M Keeravani.
The screenplay of "MUJHE JAAN NA KAHO MERI JAAN", written by Sanjoy Nag, was published recently and was selected at the Asian Projects Market of the Busan International Film Festival in South Korea. The film is currently in development.
In addition to his work in the film industry, Sanjoy Nag is an obsessive foodie and traveler. He has also acted in a few films, including "JEEVAN SMRITI - Selective Memories", directed by the late auteur Rituparno Ghosh, in which he played the role of Rabindranath Tagore.
