Scott Hogsett was born in 1972 in Spokane, Washington, to parents Doug and Donna Hogsett, and has a younger sister named Jennifer.
At the tender age of nineteen, Hogsett's life took a drastic turn when he was involved in an accident that left him a quadriplegic. However, undeterred by this setback, he discovered a new passion in life - wheelchair rugby - in 1996, after relocating to Phoenix, Arizona.
Hogsett's remarkable journey in wheelchair rugby has been marked by numerous achievements, including winning bronze medals in the 2004 and 2012 Paralympic Games, gold medals in the 2008 Paralympic Games, the 2006 and 2010 World Championships, the silver medal in the 2008 North American Cup, and the gold medal in the 2008 Canada Cup.
In addition to his impressive individual achievements, Hogsett has also been a vital member of the U.S. Quad Paralympics team, helping to win the National Championship for the wheelchair rugby team Phoenix Heat in 2005. His outstanding performance earned him the U.S. Quad Rugby Association Athlete of the Year award in 2007.
Hogsett's illustrious career has not gone unnoticed, as he was inducted into the Arizona Sports Hall of Fame in 2014, a testament to his dedication and perseverance.
Apart from his sporting achievements, Hogsett has also pursued his education, earning a bachelor's degree in Therapeutic Recreation from Arizona State University. He has also used his experience to mentor young disabled athletes, sharing his wisdom and insights to help them overcome their own challenges.
Today, Hogsett lives in Phoenix, Arizona, with his wife Michelle and son Jacoby, and continues to be an inspiration to many, both on and off the court.
