Biography

Sean C. Ching is a 4th generation Asian American, raised in L.A. and spending his summers sleeping on his grandparents' floor in Hawaii. His mother, La Verne Ching, was a world-traveling stewardess for Pan Am, who later became a full-time mother to Sean and his siblings.

His father, Dr. Clayton Ching, was a neurosurgeon and orthopedic surgeon, specializing in sports medicine. Dr. Ching was a quarterback at the University of Hawaii, sang professionally, and played the sax, piano, ukulele, and performed the Samoan slap dance. Sean's father's multi-talented nature and encouragement inspired Sean to pursue acting.

Sean learned golf, tennis, and martial arts at age 7, and participated in track and field, winning the CIF-SS championship for hurdles and holding the record for the standing long jump. He also worked in his father's office, assisting with physical therapy treatments, and interned with Dr. Robert Kerr, a renowned sports medicine specialist.

After high school, Sean taught golf, tennis, and martial arts while completing his degree in speech communications. He trained extensively in various martial arts styles, including boxing, karate, shaolin boxing, hap kid do, aikido, muay thai, jiujitsu, and yuen kay san wing chun. This experience led him to create "Maximum Efficiency Training," a technique designed to achieve maximum results with minimal training time.

Sean's modeling career took him to various locations, where he worked with animals, rode horses, and climbed mountains. He was featured on the cover of Men's Health and appeared in several fitness programs, including P90X.

Sean trained in improv at the Groundlings studio, Shakespeare under William Morgan Sheppard, and voice-over under Mary Kay Bergman and Kit Paraventi. He has also studied with internationally acclaimed martial artists, fight choreographers, and stunt coordinators.

Sean has appeared in several feature films, including Call of the Wolf, Stringendo, and Kazakh short 5 GUNS, for which he performed all his stunts. He has also collaborated on several short films and written, fight choreographed, and co-starred in Badass Bloggers, which was nominated for Best Comedy Short and Best Action Sequence Martial Arts in a Short.

In his free time, Sean enjoys cooking, carpentry, Koi ponds, and home improvement projects. He is a self-taught DIY expert and enjoys learning about and improving upcycling techniques.
