Seiko Higuma was born in Miyagi, Japan, and her life took a dramatic turn when she relocated to Buenos Aires, Argentina at the tender age of six. It was during this formative period that she began learning English and Spanish, setting the stage for her future endeavors.
As she grew older, Seiko's travels took her to various parts of South America, and it was during these journeys that she encountered people who left an indelible mark on her life. The beauty of these places and the kindness of their inhabitants had a profound impact on her, shaping her into the person she is today.
In 1998, Seiko made the bold decision to relocate to New York City, where she enrolled in the local United Nations International School and took her first drama class. It was here that she discovered her passion for acting and decided to dedicate her life to the art form. She went on to continue her studies at Sarah Lawrence College.
Throughout her career, Seiko has undergone rigorous training in various acting methods, attending esteemed institutions such as the Lee Strasberg Theater Institute, Stella Adler Acting Conservatory, and HB studios. Her impressive filmography includes a range of independent films, including "Feel" by Matt Mahurin, "Calling" by Mayu Nakamura, and "Neila" by Taiwei Wang.
Seiko's directing credits are equally impressive, with her short film "To be" winning the Most Original Film award at the 3rd Annual AAFilLAb 72Hour Shoot Out and being screened at the Asian American International Film Festival in 2006.
In addition to her film work, Seiko has also made a name for herself on the New York City stage, with credits including "I was Tom Cruise", "86th street", "Now I lie", PSNBC Industrial Showcase, "William Shakespeare's Haunted House", "Pattaya King", and "Eplmenides". Her commercial credits are equally impressive, featuring notable brands such as Coke Zero, LG, NY lottery, Nike, and Intel.
Currently, Seiko is working on a feature-length screenplay and a TV episode, cementing her status as a talented and versatile artist.
