Born on August 22, 1987, in Sacramento, California, Uhaa has a unique background, with a Nigerian father and a sister who serves in the U.S. Army.
Growing up in Atlanta, Georgia, Uhaa developed a passion for professional wrestling at a young age, citing Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Steve Austin, and Kurt Angle as his favorite wrestlers. He began training in Curtis Hughes's World Wrestling Alliance 4 (WWA4) school in Atlanta, where he honed his skills and eventually made his debut as Uhaa Nation on August 17, 2009.
Over the years, Uhaa competed in various promotions, including Dragon Gate, Evolve Wrestling, and Full Impact Pro, establishing himself as a talented wrestler. In October 2014, his skills caught the attention of the WWE, and he was invited to a tryout camp.
