Shannon Brown embarked on a career journey, traversing the country as she honed her skills in sketch and improv comedy, eventually settling in Los Angeles, where she now dedicates her time to crafting and directing horror-comedy shorts that seamlessly blend the frightening and the hilarious, bringing to life relatable female characters that captivate audiences.
Her passion for storytelling is deeply rooted in her family, who instilled in her a natural comedic talent, and her Catholic upbringing, which has granted her a sense of comfort when exploring the darker aspects of the human experience.
Shannon's unique brand of dark comedy and flair for the unusual have been showcased at the esteemed Upright Citizens Brigade Theater and in various online publications, including Reductress, Atlas Obscura, Whohaha, and Rue Morgue.
In 2023, Shannon had the opportunity to participate in the Sundance Writing Horror for Film & Television intensive, further refining her craft. Her horror-comedy short film, Demon Juice, is currently available to stream on Screamfest and TromaNow, while her latest short, Overnights, is making its way through the festival circuit.
Beyond her creative pursuits, Shannon is committed to fostering a sense of community among like-minded individuals. She co-hosts a monthly meetup for women and non-binary horror filmmakers, as well as a quarterly event that is open to all genders, alongside Anastasia Washington. These gatherings are designed to be both enjoyable and approachable, much like Shannon herself.
