Shaun Chen's journey in the entertainment industry began with a successful modeling career, where he was discovered by Mediacorp through his numerous billboard ads for Maxis, Malaysia's largest telecommunications company.
As a model, Shaun's experience naturally transitioned into hosting and acting, with his debut on screen being as a dramatized host on the hit variety program, City Beat. His affable and friendly nature quickly won over Chinese drama producers, who subsequently cast him in the roles of an entrepreneur in City Heroes and a successful businessman in the 100-episode Holland V.
In Holland V, Shaun's character "Xiao Xin" - a successful businessman suffering from temporary memory loss - became a household name. Since then, Shaun has taken on numerous leading roles in various Mandarin drama series, including Yummy Yummy, a joint-production between Hong Kong's TVB and MediaCorp Studios, and the highly-rated C.I.D. in 2006.
Shaun's outstanding performance in C.I.D earned him a nomination for Best Supporting Actor in the Star Awards, Singapore's equivalent of the Emmys. In addition to his work in television, Shaun also collaborated with acclaimed Singapore horror film director Kelvin Tong on the movie Men in White.
Throughout his career, Shaun has received numerous accolades, including the Best Actor Award for his role in The Journey: Tumultuous Times at the Star Awards 2015. He has also been recognized as one of the Top 10 Most Popular Male Artistes at the Star Awards in 2018 and 2019.
