Sherry's birthplace, the city of Halifax, played a significant role in the early stages of her life and professional journey. She spent her formative years in the charming Prospect Village, located in the province of Nova Scotia, where the foundation for her future pursuits was laid. As she transitioned into adulthood, Sherry made the decision to enroll in Mount St. Vincent University, where she concurrently pursued dual degrees in Psychology and Gerontology, further broadening her intellectual scope.
After returning to her hometown of Halifax in the year 1996, Sherry's unwavering passion for the art of acting compelled her to take part in a diverse array of locally produced television shows, movies, and independent films. Her extensive experiences in front of the camera sparked a profound and unrelenting desire within her to explore the intricacies of the filmmaking process in greater depth, ultimately leading her to enroll in the two-year Screen Arts program at the Nova Scotia Community College in the year 1999. Throughout her tenure within the program, Sherry had the opportunity to work on a multitude of short films, where she meticulously refined her skills and acquired invaluable hands-on experience, honing her craft and developing a deep understanding of the filmmaking process.

It was the year 2002 that witnessed the culmination of Sherry's extraordinary abilities and steadfast commitment, ultimately leading to her helming of the resoundingly successful short film, Finding Peace, which was meticulously crafted through the prestigious Shortworks training program.
Sherry embarked on the ambitious creation of a documentary, titled Our Race, which would serve as her next major project, and what a journey it would be! This captivating and emotional odyssey would chronicle the incredible story of the Women Alike Abreast A River Dragon Boat Team of Nova Scotia, a remarkable group of women who would be the subject of this five-year long documentary.
The documentary is centered around a remarkable group of breast cancer survivors, hailing from a wide range of age groups, who come together to form a dynamic and resilient team. Through their poignant stories, the film poignantly captures the collective strength and unwavering support that emerges as they form unbreakable bonds with one another and the symbolic spirit of the dragon boat.
Sherry is actively engaged in a collaborative endeavour with the renowned production company, Mentor Pictures, with the aim of bringing her next visionary project to life. This endeavour is expected to not only solidify her position as a highly skilled and imaginative filmmaker but also propel her to even greater heights of success in her profession.
