Biography

Shozin Fukui, a Japanese film director and screenwriter of notable acclaim, has embarked on a diverse career path, crafting a range of cinematic works that showcase his innovative vision. His initial foray into filmmaking saw the creation of two experimental short films, "Gerorisuto" and "Caterpillar", which garnered attention for their unconventional approaches.

Fukui's subsequent foray into feature-length filmmaking yielded two critically acclaimed films, "964 Pinocchio" and "Rubber's Lover". These movies, initially released on DVD by Unearthed Films, were widely available, but have since gone out of print.

Undeterred by this development, Fukui continued to push the boundaries of his craft, releasing four more films that, although largely unknown outside of Japan, have further solidified his reputation as a daring and innovative filmmaker.
