Shriya Pilgaonkar is a talented actress, born to a family of actors, with her parents Sachin Pilgaonkar and Supriya Pilgaonkar being renowned figures in the Indian film industry.
As a child, Pilgaonkar was trained in the classical dance form of Kathak and even excelled in professional swimming, winning gold medals in the under-7 and under-9 categories at the state level.
Pilgaonkar pursued a bachelor's degree in Sociology from St. Xavier's College in Mumbai, where she also took classes in Japanese, considering a career as a linguist or translator.
Her acting career began at the tender age of five, when she was cast in the popular Hindi comedy series Tu Tu Main Main (1994),directed by her father and starring her mother in a lead role.
Pilgaonkar's foray into professional filmmaking started at Harvard summer school, where she studied screenplay adaptation, and later pursued a film appreciation course at the prestigious Film and Television Institute of India (FTII).
Her debut film, Ek Kulti Ek (2013),a Marathi film written, directed, and produced by her father, earned her six awards, including the prestigious Maharashtra State Government Award for Best Debut Actress in 2013.
She then went on to appear in a few other film and stage projects before bagging a role in the French film Un + Une (2015),directed by the renowned Oscar-winning director Claude Lelouch.
Pilgaonkar made her Bollywood debut in 2016 with Fan (2016),a Shah Rukh Khan-starrer under the Yash Raj Films banner, produced by Aditya Chopra and written and directed by Maneesh Sharma.
In 2018, she gained widespread recognition with her role in the Amazon Prime India web series Mirzapur (2018),followed by appearances in several more shows, including The Gone Game (2020),Crackdown (2020),Guilty Minds (2022),and The Broken News (2022).
Throughout her career, Pilgaonkar has been a part of various films, including Jai Mata Di (2017),linkHouse Arrest (2019),Bhangra Paa Le (2020),and linkKaadan (2021).
