Simón Brand's professional journey commenced with the direction of a music video for a local rock band in Colombia at the tender age of 17. This initial foray into the music video world laid the foundation for his subsequent work with renowned artists, including Enrique Iglesias, Paulina Rubio, Ricky Martin, Shakira, Thalía, Juanes, Jessica Simpson, Celia Cruz, Chayanne, and numerous others. Throughout his illustrious career, Brand has garnered a staggering two Grammy nominations, a testament to his exceptional skill and dedication to his craft.
Brand's ascent to fame in Europe was fueled by his direction of music videos for prominent artists such as Westlife, Steps, and Gabrielle. This international recognition served as a springboard for his transition into film direction, with his debut feature being the 2006 thriller "Unknown", starring the talented trio of Jim Caviezel, Greg Kinnear, and Joe Pantoliano.
In 2008, Brand released his sophomore effort, "Paraíso Travel", which TIME magazine proudly listed as one of the best Latin American movies of the last decade. This critically acclaimed film solidified Brand's reputation as a visionary director, capable of crafting compelling narratives that captivate audiences worldwide.
In his personal life, Brand is married to the stunning Colombian model Claudia Bahamón, with whom he shares two children.
