Simon Pengelly, a remarkable individual, came into the world on February 11, 1983, in the charming town of Brecon. His academic odyssey commenced at Brecon High School, where he diligently worked towards earning his GCSEs, showcasing his impressive athletic abilities by representing the school rugby team.
In addition to his academic pursuits, Pengelly nurtured his passion for karate, a discipline he became exceptionally skilled in. He achieved the esteemed status of second Dan black belt under the guidance of Brecon Shotokan Karate Club. This remarkable feat was merely the beginning of his karate journey, as he went on to earn several caps as a Welsh international fighter, further solidifying his reputation as a formidable karateka.
Simon's educational pursuits came to a close, and he subsequently embarked on an apprenticeship as an electrician, achieving the prestigious NVQ Level 2 certification, a testament to his dedication and aptitude for the trade. Nevertheless, his restless spirit soon compelled him to put his burgeoning career on hold, and he set out to explore the world, driven by a sense of adventure and a thirst for new experiences.
His travels took him to the distant shores of New Zealand and Australia, where he immersed himself in the local culture and developed a passion for the sport of rugby, playing to a regional standard and honing his skills on the pitch. In addition, he took the opportunity to explore the historic and scenic landscapes of Europe, broadening his horizons and deepening his understanding of the world's diverse cultures.
Upon his return from his travels, Simon resumed his rugby career, playing semi-professionally for Neath RFC for a period of three years, during which time he continued to refine his skills and push himself to new heights. Concurrently, he also pursued his interest in stone masonry, developing his technical proficiency and artistic flair, and cultivating a new passion that would serve him well in the years to come.
Simon, a former rugby player, eventually retired his boots and rekindled his long-dormant passion for acting. He embarked on his acting career in 2009, initially taking on minor roles before gradually transitioning to more substantial parts. Throughout his television career, Simon has made notable appearances on BBC shows such as "Casualty," "Merlin," and "Being Human," among numerous other credits.
