Sophia, a talented actress known for her portrayal of adventurous, determined, and wise characters beyond her years, made her feature film debut in the Netflix docudrama The Social Dilemma, starring alongside Skyler Gisondo and Kara Hayward. The film premiered at Sundance and garnered seven Emmy Award nominations.
Next, Sophia will appear in the Disney Channel/Disney+ comedy Under Wraps as Amy Winston, a sweet but tough character, and in the romantic drama Keyhole Garden alongside Zoe Saldana, Garrett Hedlund, and Tom Waits, playing Alma, a soft-spoken yet strong-willed individual.
Born in South Pasadena, California, Sophia relocated to Boulder, Colorado at the age of six. She began her performing career in musical theater, appearing in various productions, including Les Miserables, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, The Music Man, Annie, and Christmas Story. At the age of 10, Sophia shifted her focus to acting for film and TV, training with Su Coffey in Denver and Saxon Trainor in LA, and subsequently appearing in numerous short films before making her feature film debut.
Reconnecting with her musical theater roots, Sophia recently starred as Ariel in the Disney Channel/Disney+ special Disney Princess Remixed, where she sang and danced to a contemporary version of the classic song "Part of Your World."
In her personal life, Sophia is adventurous, frequently traveling and maintaining connections to her Asian Pacific heritage. She is a dog owner, plays the guitar, writes and sings songs, and dabbles in screenwriting. Sophia hopes to eventually write, direct, and act in films.
