Her initial appearance in the series was a guest role, where she portrayed Mary Frances Sumner in 1990, prior to joining the regular cast as Kate Whittaker for the final three seasons of the show, thereby cementing her presence in the series. In 1997, Galina reprised her role as Kate in the television movie Knots Landing: Back to the Cul-de-Sac, thus revisiting her iconic character once more.
