Stella Nina McCartney, born in 1971 in London, England, is the daughter of renowned rock photographer Linda McCartney and former Beatle Paul McCartney. Her birth was almost a tragic event, as her mother and child narrowly escaped death, prompting her father to pray for her delivery "on the wings of an angel". This poignant moment inspired the name of her parents' band, Wings.
Growing up, Stella had a relatively normal childhood, despite her famous parents. The family of three lived in a modest two-bedroom house, and Stella traveled the world with her parents. By the time she was in college, she had already developed a sense of independence, making her own money by taking on part-time jobs, including washing dishes at a nearby restaurant.
At just 15 years old, Stella had the opportunity to work with Christian Lacroix on his first couture collection. After completing her studies at London's Central St Martins College of Art and Design in 1995, she showcased her own collection of clothes, featuring celebrity models Naomi Campbell and Kate Moss.
