Stephen Uppal, a talented individual with a diverse range of interests and pursuits. He began his academic journey by graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature, followed by further studies in Acting & Musical Theatre at The ArtsEd school of Acting in London.
Outside of academics, Stephen is a fitness and martial arts enthusiast, regularly training in Jiu-Jitsu and Mixed Martial Arts. He also has a passion for music, having achieved a grade 4 in piano, which he started learning in 2020.
Coming from a large family, Stephen is incredibly close to his loved ones and often quotes, "Family Is Everything." He cherishes spending time with his family and exploring his creative side.
Professionally, after completing his studies at ArtsEd, Stephen went on to play various roles in London's West End, including performances in "Tonights the night," "Joseph & His Amazing Technicolour Dream Coat," and "The History Boys" at the Royal National Theatre.
Stephen's breakthrough role came when he played the lead character, Ravi Roy, in the Channel 4 TV series "Hollyoaks" for three seasons. He has also appeared in films such as "The Mummy" alongside Tom Cruise and Russell Crowe, "Looted," and more recently, "Damned," marking his first lead role in an action movie. In addition to his acting career, Stephen is also a writer and has a drama series, "Yes Please" (Asian Shameless),in development with SharpHouse TV. The series is set in the late 1980s and is loosely based on Stephen's life growing up in Middlesbrough, with an Indian family at the center of the action. This highly anticipated show is expected to be a groundbreaking success.
Stephen currently resides in London but frequently visits his family in Middlesbrough, his hometown, to maintain strong ties with his loved ones.
