Steve Race is a highly acclaimed and accomplished Director in the entertainment industry, known for his versatility and ability to excel in a wide range of projects. After graduating from Florida Southern College with a bachelor's degree in Film and Television Production in 1996, Steve made the bold move to Los Angeles to pursue a career in show business.
He began his journey as a Director's Assistant to the renowned Director, Louis J. Horvitz, who has won numerous Emmy Awards. During his time with Horvitz, Steve worked on several high-profile projects, including the 1999 and 2000 Academy Awards, the 1999 Emmy Awards, the People's Choice Awards, Net Aid Live, and many other television specials.
In 2001, Steve ventured out on his own, taking on directing roles for various projects. One of his earliest notable projects was the Latin Grammy Awards, where he was tasked with producing and directing the inaugural event, "Latin Style," hosted by Daisy Fuentes. This marked the beginning of a long and successful career as a Director and Producer.
In the years that followed, Steve worked on a diverse range of projects, including the First Annual Visual Effects Society Awards, where he directed a 15-camera event that showcased the work of some of the industry's top visual effects artists. He also produced and directed the "Latino Comedy Fiesta" series, which featured 10 volumes of comedy performances by some of the industry's top comedians.
Steve's work in comedy continued with the production and direction of "Brett Butler Presents: The Southern Belles of Comedy," a 10-camera comedy DVD hosted by Brett Butler. He also worked on a documentary series, "Firefighter's," which followed the men and women of the Los Angeles City Fire Department.
In 2011, Steve made his feature film directorial debut with "I'm In Love With A Church Girl," starring Jeff "Ja Rule" Atkins and Adrienne Bailon. The film was a critical and commercial success, and Steve's work on it earned him a spot as a member of the Director's Guild of America.
Steve's passion project, "The Story of My Family," is a feature film that he penned the screenplay for and will also produce and direct. The film is a coming-of-age story that explores modern-day family dynamics in the culturally diverse San Fernando Valley, CA.
In addition to his work in film and television, Steve is also involved in producing and directing video content for US Medical Innovations. This includes shooting major cancer surgeries for research purposes, which is being used in the fight against cancer.
