Steven Bratter, a renowned Hollywood Studio Executive Producer and screenwriter with the Writers Guild of America West (WGAw),has amassed over three decades of experience in the entertainment industry, working alongside some of the most prominent names in show business.
In 2012, Steven was invited by the University of Copenhagen to teach a post-grad masterclass in Screenwriting and Media Studies, a testament to his expertise in the field. Since then, he has been a visiting lecturer at various universities worldwide, occasionally joined by industry legends such as Gary Kurtz, producer of American Graffiti, Star Wars, The Empire Strikes Back, and Dark Crystal, and actors like Richard Dreyfuss, known for his iconic roles in Jaws, Goodbye Girl, and Close Encounters of the Third Kind.
Steven has been quite busy in recent years, with six projects in various stages of development. Some of these projects include:
In 2018, Steven began developing a character-driven private eye procedural series for Netflix, to be written by Adam Robitel, Gavin Heffernan, and overseen by showrunner Nick Stoller. The project is being produced by Justin Lin's Perfect Storm Entertainment, with the pilot to be directed by Justin Lin himself.
In 2019, Steven also started developing a techno-spy thriller series alongside a fellow producer with an in-house deal at Lionsgate. They focused on packaging talent, bringing on board a director with major credits in the action genre and directing three A-list action stars in his last several movies. As a result, one of Hollywood's fastest-rising action stars came on board as the male lead. The team is currently packaging a showrunner before taking the project to market.
A dark comedy pilot script was brought to Steven's attention by his producing partner at the end of 2018. With Steven's help, the team soon attached an Oscar-winning actor as the male lead. At the end of 2019, one of Hollywood's top comedy directors, with major box office success in film and experience directing several of today's long-running sitcoms, came on board. Steven and the team are now looking to package the right showrunner.
As of 2020, several other television and film projects are in development, each with various talent attachments.
