Biography

Steven's life began in London, Ontario, Canada, where he was welcomed into the world by a mother of Polish-German heritage and a father hailing from a long line of Canadian ancestry, with his paternal family's roots tracing back to the Weskarini Algonquin First Nation people of La Petite Nation, also affectionately referred to as Little Nation, situated in the western region of Quebec, Canada.

Steven, a highly accomplished individual, boasts an impressive educational background, having graduated from the prestigious Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. His remarkable achievements in the entertainment industry were recently recognized with a nomination for a Hollywood Discovery Award at the esteemed Hollywood Film Awards, in recognition of his exceptional work on the short film "Vodka, Winter, and The Cry of Violin". Not only did Steven star in this outstanding production, but he also demonstrated his versatility as a writer, director, and producer.

The film, a powerful and emotional portrayal of a true story, tells the heart-wrenching tale of a Polish couple's perilous journey to rescue their only son from a Nazi German labor camp during the final winter of World War II. This gripping narrative, brought to life by Steven's exceptional talent, won the coveted 'Best International Short' award at the renowned New York Film Festival, solidifying its place as a standout in the world of filmmaking.

Steven embarked on a remarkable journey in the world of comedy, marking his debut in the highly anticipated summer blockbuster White Chicks, where he stole the spotlight as the charismatic and endearing Party Boy, alongside the illustrious Wayans Brothers.

Concurrently, he received widespread critical acclaim for his poignant portrayal of Young Eddie in the thought-provoking drama Mitch Albom's The Five People You Meet In Heaven, alongside a talented ensemble cast that included Academy Award winners Jon Voight, Jeff Daniels, and Ellen Burstyn, as well as Emmy-winning actor Michael Imperioli.

This remarkable performance was based on the bestselling novel of the same name, which had previously topped the New York Times Best Sellers list, further solidifying Steven's reputation as a versatile and talented young actor.

Steven has had an illustrious career on stage, with numerous notable performances, including multiple stints in the esteemed title role of Hamlet, a character that has been a hallmark of his theatrical repertoire.

In addition to his impressive work in the realm of classical theatre, Steven has also made a significant impact in the Los Angeles theatre scene, where he has had the privilege of sharing the stage with some of the most renowned and accomplished actors of our time.

One such notable collaboration was his starring role opposite Academy Award winners Al Pacino and Dianne Wiest, as well as Academy Award nominee Jessica Chastain, in the classic play The Father, penned by the illustrious August Strindberg.

This critically acclaimed production showcased Steven's remarkable range and versatility as a thespian, as he brought depth, nuance, and a commanding presence to his role, earning him widespread critical acclaim and further solidifying his reputation as a leading man of the stage.

Steven, a talented individual, took a brief hiatus from his acting career to dedicate himself to the completion of his feature film script, Sheepdog, a poignant story that delves into the challenges faced by combat veterans as they attempt to reintegrate into civilian life.

Upon his return to the small screen, Steven landed the role of Liam Cullen, a significant character in the second season of the popular Netflix series Between, where he shared the screen with none other than Jennette McCurdy, a well-known star of Nickelodeon.

In the following year, Steven joined the cast of Medal of Honor, a high-profile documentary-drama directed by the acclaimed filmmaker Robert Zemeckis.

Steven returned behind the camera in early 2020 to direct himself in the feature film The Secret of Sinchanee, which he also wrote and produced. This film is executive produced by Joe Newcomb, a renowned producer known for his work on the Academy Award-winning film Dallas Buyers Club. The cast of The Secret of Sinchanee is impressive, featuring former NFL player and Green Beret Nate Boyer, as well as actresses Tamara Austin, known for her role in the popular television series Walking Dead, and Laila Lockhart Kraner, who has appeared in notable television shows such as Gabby's Dollhouse and Black-ish.

The film premiered at the 2021 Raindance Film Festival in London and was an official selection at 12 International Film Festivals, garnering widespread recognition and accolades. The Secret of Sinchanee won three awards and received eight nominations at these prestigious film festivals. In October 2021, the film was released worldwide via Vertical Entertainment, making it accessible to audiences globally.

The New York Times praised the film, stating that Steven Grayhm's feature debut is a slow-burn thriller that skillfully intertwines themes of mental illness and family traumas into a cautionary tale set on sacred land. The publication noted that Logan Fulton's cinematography effectively captures the beauty of rural Massachusetts, depicting it as both a winter wonderland and a hellscape.

In the year 2020, a pivotal moment in the career of Steven unfolded as he embarked on a groundbreaking endeavour, giving birth to Team House Studios, a pioneering film and television production company. This ambitious venture was driven by a profound commitment to empowering military veterans, providing them with tangible, hands-on training opportunities that would enable them to excel both in front of and behind the camera.

Through this innovative initiative, Steven aimed to create a level playing field, where individuals from all walks of life, regardless of gender or background, could equally contribute to the world of film and television production. The Secret of Sinchanee, a cinematic masterpiece, marked the inaugural release under the Team House Studios banner, boasting an impressive cast of 11 US military veterans, alongside a Gold Star sister, who lent their talents to the project.

Steven is actively engaged in the preliminary stages of production for his forthcoming feature-length cinematic endeavour, tentatively titled Sheepdog, which revolves around the poignant and thought-provoking theme of American veterans struggling to readjust to civilian life following their return from combat duty.
